Zelensky and Macron Discuss Ways to Respond to Russia's Actions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed various ways to respond to Russia's actions during their meeting.

Zelensky said: "Emmanuel and I discussed together various ways to respond to these actions. In particular, we will receive new packages this month that will strengthen our combat aviation. We are also speeding up work on the European anti-ballistic defense system - FREYJA must become operational by the end of the year. I thank Emmanuel: all licenses for the production of weapons promised by France to Ukraine have already been obtained. Now it is important that these issues be implemented immediately at the team level".

According to Macron, during the meeting he once again assured Zelensky of France's firm determination to support Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

Macron said: "Since Russia is resorting to escalation, it is extremely important that we jointly provide Ukraine with all the necessary means it needs to defend itself, as well as to protect the civilian population and infrastructure. I also reaffirmed our readiness to continue supporting Ukraine on the path to a firm and lasting peace. France will continue to fulfill its obligations".
