Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hopes that support for Ukraine will strengthen after the US midterm elections. He said this in an interview with the German TV channel ZDF.

According to Zelensky, the Democrats were very clear about supporting Ukraine. In his assessment, ties between America and Europe have been somewhat lost over the past two years, while this alliance is very important for Ukraine, because without it it is very difficult to stop Putin.

"What do the results of the US elections mean for us? As people, we always believe and hope that any changes will be more positive. Why? Because during any elections, and especially during US elections, you hear signals. And the signals from the 'Democratic Party' were such that if they win, then, along with domestic issues, focusing on the war in Europe will be important for them. This is Russia's war against Ukraine," Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president thanked both Democrats and Republicans for their bipartisan support. He said that during the elections, Democrats speak very clearly about supporting Ukraine and providing assistance.

Zelensky added that he hopes the new balance of power will lead to more support being given to Ukraine.
