Two of Three Russian Diesel Tankers Bound for US Change Course

Two of three tankers carrying Russian diesel fuel bound for the US have changed course. The Financial Times writes this, citing sources.
According to the publication, this may indicate that the diesel fuel agreement between Donald Trump and Moscow has collapsed.
According to the publication's sources, a third tanker will also change course "due to regulatory, legislative and sanctions issues."
American buyers have currently refused to receive Russian fuel, because there are legal threats from state and federal government representatives.
New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill, a Democrat, warned operators of the state's ports and terminals that they could face fines of millions of dollars for unloading Russian diesel.
According to CNN, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has instructed banks, port operators and companies involved in the diesel agreement to preserve documents. This was done to prepare for oversight investigations, as Democrats will take control of Congress in January.
