Hegseth: War on Iran Is Brave and Historic, Impeachment Will Not Work

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth describes the war against Iran as a "brave and historic" event. According to him, he will oppose attempts to impeach him in Congress.

In a video message spread on social media, Hegseth said: "You see, they are attacking me - they are attacking us - because we are working effectively. This will not work. We will not back down".

Hegseth called the impeachment process a "farce" and noted that Trump himself had been subject to impeachment twice. According to Hegseth: "This is all related to a policy of personal destruction. It did not work against President Trump and it will not work in my case either. You can be sure of that".

US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the reason for the defeat of the "Republicans" in the midterm elections became voter dissatisfaction with the war against Iran.

Yesterday, asked whether personnel changes were coming, Trump praised Hegseth and said the defense secretary had done a "fantastic job". Trump hinted that the opposition to him is linked to the dismissal of generals.
