Public Defender's Representative Visits Giorgi Feikrishvili in Penitentiary No. 8

A representative of the Public Defender personally visited Giorgi Feikrishvili, an accused person, at Penitentiary No. 8. The Public Defender's Office reported this in a statement and responded to information circulating about alleged physical violence against detainee Feikrishvili.

According to the statement, on October 25, 2026, a message arrived at the Public Defender's Office hotline about an alleged incident of improper treatment of Giorgi Feikrishvili at Penitentiary No. 8. The message also requested a visit to the accused. The Office said this information is being provided to the public given its high public interest.

According to the accused, he is alone in his cell and no other prisoners are housed with him. He said that at this stage he has no complaints regarding security issues. The Public Defender's Office also notes that during the visit Feikrishvili did not make any additional requests to the Office.

According to Nino Abramishvili, mother of the Feikrishvili brothers, who are reportedly close to criminal circles, so-called criminal authority Vato Kipiani entered the cell of her second son, Giorgi Feikrishvili. The Special Penitentiary Service denied this information.
