One of the leaders of the "Federalists," Giga Bokeria, said at the start of a protest rally that the Ivanishvili regime wants to reconcile society with the loss of statehood through repressive methods and manipulative propaganda. According to him, the banning of parties also serves this goal, although "this will not happen."

According to Bokeria, the main task of opposition parties is to show society an alternative so that they can organize such peaceful protest that "the repressive apparatus of the Ivanishvili regime will no longer be able to withstand."

"The Ivanishvili regime wants to reconcile society with the loss of statehood through repressive methods and a flood of its manipulative propaganda, with corruption, with the enrichment of Ivanishvili and his entourage at the expense of their future, with being left alone face to face with Russia, which is equivalent to the loss of statehood, with catastrophe in education and healthcare, in everything that is happening. It is the task of us, of the whole society, regardless of different political sympathies, not to allow this. The banning of parties also serves this, so that people will be reconciled to it - this will not happen," said Bokeria.

According to him, Georgian society made its choice long ago and sacrificed greatly so that it could live in an independent state, where government is subject to citizens and power does not exist so that one man and his entourage can get rich at the expense of their children's future.

Bokeria also linked the November 28 rally to this goal. According to his explanation, on this day the government seized power and announced that it would reconcile society with the loss of statehood, which means renouncing independence, and which was followed by a reaction.

"It is the task of us, of the political forces, to show society a convincing alternative so that we can organize peaceful protest of such a quality that the repressive apparatus of the Ivanishvili regime will no longer be able to withstand, essentially in the same way as happened 36 years ago against the Soviet Russian regime, so that we can achieve a situation where free elections will be possible," said Bokeria.
