Kaveladze Attends Universal Baptism in Skhalta Eparchy

Georgian President Mikheil Kaveladze attended a universal baptism held in the Skhalta Eparchy in Adjara. According to him, Upper Adjara is filled with celebration, as many people received baptism and became part of the Orthodox mother church.
According to Kaveladze, this is a great celebration for every person, and the nation and the whole country are rejoicing. The president described Upper Adjara as the gateway of Christianity and a special region, and recalled that it was here that Andrew the First-Called and Simon the Canaanite first preached.
He also noted that this year Georgia is marking 1700 years since Christianity was proclaimed the state religion, and that this is a great responsibility for every person.
The president thanked the residents of Upper Adjara for preserving their identity and love for the homeland despite having passed through great trials. Kaveladze repeated the words of the Patriarch that the path the whole of Georgia has traveled must be traveled together with the people of Upper Adjara, and that this is the path leading to the Lord.
"We will borrow from our Holiness: the closer we are to the Lord, the more challenges we will be able to overcome. This is the experience of our history, of our entire existence," said Kaveladze.
