Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili, speaking in Batumi after a meeting of foreign ministers of Georgia and Central Asian countries, said that a strategic partnership with Uzbekistan was established during the state visit of the Uzbek President in July. In her words, this is another confirmation that relations between the countries are moving to a new stage.

Bochorishvili also spoke about Turkmenistan and noted that the state visit of the Turkmen President, which also took place in July this year, was important for deepening relations. According to her statement, this visit created new opportunities for deepening political dialogue and trade and economic relations.

According to the minister, important steps were also taken in relations with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. According to her, the first official visit to Kyrgyzstan was carried out by the Prime Minister of Georgia in June this year.

"There were also important meetings in Tajikistan, and Georgia is of great importance for both countries. If we look at the development of trade and economic relations, it is clear that we need to strengthen ties with each other," Bochorishvili said.

In her words, "Of course, all of this requires strong political dialogue so that we can truly turn concrete economic results into reality, and it is precisely these shared interests that underpin our meeting today, which will make an important contribution to bringing our regions closer and creating new opportunities for our countries and peoples."

Bochorishvili thanked colleagues who are in Georgia and joined the initiative so that the first meeting in this format could be held in Batumi. According to her, this will be an important step in developing relations between countries and regions and will further highlight Georgia's role in the context of the development of the Middle Corridor, which, in her assessment, is very relevant and important in modern processes.
