Kaladze: "City Heart" and "Terek" Found for Traders at Marjanishvili Metro

According to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, alternative space has been selected for traders near the Marjanishvili metro station. He said this at a sitting of the city government.
Kaladze once again stated that unauthorized trading is prohibited. According to him, traders were warned multiple times, but this did not produce results. The mayor explained that the authorities "do not consider the fate of these people indifferent" and that leaving them without income is not the goal.
"We are ready to support, in every way, the people and families who need our assistance. I also understand the people who were engaged in their business near the Marjanishvili metro. And of course, leaving these people without income is not our goal; on the contrary, we want to help them in every way, stand by them, and also make one of the most important spaces and places of the city orderly in every respect...
In parallel with the preventive measures, we started searching for trading spaces where these people could continue their work. Do not think that we are simply leaving these people behind, that we just cleaned up the existing territory and do not care how they will continue their activities. That is not the case.
There are specific spaces that have been identified, for example "City Heart" and "Terek", where traders near the Marjanishvili metro can continue their activities," Kaladze said.
He asked the head of Chugureti district to arrange a meeting with the traders, and thanked the employees of the municipal inspection.
At 2 a.m. on October 27, the municipal inspection removed the stalls of street traders from the territory near the Marjanishvili metro.
According to one of the street traders, inspectors had come earlier as well, but removing the stalls was postponed, and over the last 2 days no one had contacted them on this issue. The traders say they have not been assigned an alternative location and have no other source of income.
