Three People Detained Over Two Stabbings During Brawl in Tbilisi

Employees of the Isani-Samgori Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained three people. The charges concern intentionally causing grave damage to the health of two persons and violence committed by a group.

According to the investigation, a verbal altercation between several people in Tbilisi escalated into a physical clash. One of the suspects stabbed two people involved in the conflict with a bladed weapon and fled the scene.

The injured persons were taken to a clinic for medical assistance.

As a result of operative measures and investigative actions, law enforcement officers detained the person charged with the stabbing at the scene. Two more people involved in the clash have been detained on charges of group violence.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 117 and 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for imprisonment of up to 13 years.
