More than 2,000 people detained over protests in France
The number of people detained in connection with protests in France has exceeded 2,000. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez announced this.
According to the minister, an investigation is underway "to identify those who committed the acts so that they face justice".
Clashes broke out during protests against the situation in schools and the rising cost of living in France. Buildings were set on fire in the capital and other cities, including Limoges, where a fire at the city hall caused part of the roof to collapse.
