An incident at a military base in Alberta province, Canada, was followed by a fire. There are fatalities and injured people.

Defence Minister David McGuinty did not specify the exact number of fatalities and injured. He also said nothing about the cause of the incident.

According to him, a strong fire was still raging at the base on Saturday evening.

According to McGuinty, the Canadian Armed Forces, representatives of federal and local authorities are jointly coordinating the response to the emergency situation.
