Kupatadze: I Know No More Dangerous Person in Georgia Than Merab Malania

The mother of murdered teacher Giga Avaliani, Eka Kupatadze, says that Merab Malania and his family are the most dangerous people among her acquaintances. She made the statement after the court hearing ended: "Remember, Merab Malania and his family are the most dangerous of the people I know. I know no more dangerous person than Merab Malania in Georgia".

According to Kupatadze, the lawyer of Giorgi Malania insistently argued that Malania had never called Aleksandre Gabashvili. Kupatadze notes that this does not change the charge, because the investigation accuses Giorgi Malania of assisting Aleksandre Gabashvili, not of calling him.

In her explanation, the prosecution does not say that Giorgi Malania was present at the scene of the attack or attacked Giga Avaliani. According to her, Malania was helping Aleksandre Gabashvili to carry out the crime. Gabashvili received information from Giorgi Malania about what kind of help he needed.

Kupatadze says that Gabashvili knew many things from Giorgi Malania that Nia Imnadze could not have provided, while he had no other common acquaintance with Giga Avaliani. According to her, Giorgi Malania provided all the information that Gabashvili needed.

Eka Kupatadze stated that she does not know where Lasha Tsutskiridze read that someone accuses Giorgi Malania of making the calls.
