Kirvalidze Sentenced to 7 Days of Administrative Detention for Insulting Ivanishvili

Judge Tornike Kochkiani sentenced Giorgi Kirvalidze, a defendant in the October 4 events case, to 7 days of administrative detention for insulting Bidzina Ivanishvili.
According to TV Pirveli, Kirvalidze protested the decision and called the judge "Bidzina's slave". He did not have a lawyer at the hearing.
Kirvalidze insulted Ivanishvili on June 24, after a plea agreement was concluded with him in the October 4 events case. He said: "I do not plead guilty, cancel [the plea agreement], Bidzina's mother ***", after which he left the courtroom.
At the appeals court, the prosecution requested that the plea agreement be cancelled. The appeals court granted the request and returned the case to the city court. A verdict has not yet been handed down to Kirvalidze.
Kirvalidze's lawyer believes that the prosecution requested the cancellation of the plea agreement because of the content of his remark, and not because Kirvalidze allegedly requested the cancellation of the agreement.
Kirvalidze's 9-month pre-trial detention term has expired, and he left the penitentiary facility several weeks ago.
