Papuashvili: Amnesty International Has Earned the Name of a Fraudster

Parliament Chairman Shalva Papuashvili says that Amnesty International has earned the name of a fraudster. Papuashvili wrote this on social media and shared a statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in which he refers to Amnesty International as a fraudulent organization.
According to Papuashvili, the organization was already engaged in fraud back when it was connected to the case of Mikheil Saakashvili, the third president of Georgia.
"The fact that Amnesty International was engaged in fraud became apparent back in 2023, when it joined the foreign disinformation campaign to free Saakashvili from just punishment.
Within just a few weeks of Amnesty International's slanderous statement cited below, the Strasbourg court found that what this organization, like Saakashvili's foreign patrons, was claiming was a fraudulent lie. According to the Strasbourg ruling, Saakashvili did not need release on health grounds; he did not even need to be transferred to another hospital.
Shortly after this shameful fraud, the world learned that the dying dictator miraculously did not die, overcame anorexia, was cured of dementia and even had a child. The operation to free Saakashvili from justice through fraud failed, while Amnesty International has earned the name of a fraudster for a long time," writes Papuashvili.
On October 8, Marco Rubio stated that Amnesty International is a fraudulent organization. At a press conference in Lisbon, a Portuguese journalist asked him about the US use of the Lajes airbase in Portugal and a possible violation of international law. The journalist cited an Amnesty International statement according to which "Portugal should not support war crimes."
When Amnesty International was mentioned, Rubio called the organization "fraudulent" and said it should focus on the "military crimes" of the "Iranian regime" against humanity.
"If you ask me what Amnesty International should focus its attention on, I will tell you: the Iranian regime, which coldly killed tens of thousands of people in the streets of Tehran and other parts of the country.
The organization should focus on how the Iranian regime storms hospitals where wounded demonstrators are, and how it kills them directly in hospital beds; moreover, sometimes it also kills the doctors and nurses who treated them.
These are exactly the issues they should focus on. These are military crimes. These are crimes against humanity that they commit against their own people," Rubio said.
