In the first half of 2026, Azerbaijan made direct investments of $12.6 million in Ukraine, which is 43 times more than in the same period last year. According to data from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the volume of Azerbaijani investments in Ukraine in the first six months of 2025 was $290,000.

Detailed information about investments made abroad by the state and private sectors is not publicly available.

According to Ukrainian media, Azerbaijan provides humanitarian aid to Ukraine and also takes part in supporting the country's energy sector. In 2022-2025, Baku allocated more than $42 million to Ukraine for the restoration of energy and infrastructure.

In August 2025, Ilham Aliyev signed an order under which $2 million was allocated from the presidential reserve fund to the Ministry of Energy. The funds were to be used to restore energy supply in Ukrainian regions damaged by hostilities. However, the Central Bank's balance of payments report shows that the volume of direct investments in Ukraine for 2025 was only $290,000. The publication said that public data does not make it possible to determine precisely from which source and in what form the money allocated from the reserve fund was transferred.

In July, in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine, Ukraine's ambassador to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Gusev, said that Azerbaijani companies are interested in Ukraine's energy, mining, logistics, agro-industrial and digital technology sectors.

According to Gusev, Azerbaijan is also taking part in Ukraine's reconstruction. With the support of Azerbaijan and the state oil company SOCAR, a polyclinic and the Academician Zarifa Aliyeva Humanitarian Lyceum "Linguist" were restored in the city of Irpin. According to the ambassador, joint work is currently underway on four new social projects for the Irpin community.

According to meydan.tv, official data show that Azerbaijan's investments in other countries have also increased: in the United Kingdom, from $64.75 million to $329.19 million; in Turkey, 3.4 times, to $603.76 million; in Georgia, by 47.7%, to $114 million; in the US, by 31.3%, to $102 million; and in the United Arab Emirates, by 72.8%, to $270.07 million.
