Tughushi: Government Sets Records in Destruction, New Prison Stories Are Devastating

Lasha Tughushi, head of the "Liberal Academy," said that the "Georgian Dream" government is setting records in destruction, and in ruin it could enter the Guinness Book of Records. He made the statement on the "Resume" program of Palitra News.

According to Tughushi, the situation in terms of human rights is very bad. In his words, regression is everywhere, from the legal framework and laws to practice, and the whole world knows about it.

"The regression does not stop, we keep going backward again and again. There is no limit in sight, and it is hard to say where it will stop. The situation is difficult. The new stories from prisons are devastating, what we have heard and seen is not simple news. Some people are having fun and even joking, but this is definitely not a joking matter. All of this will backfire on them very badly, I am sure of that," Tughushi said.

According to him, a large part of society is convinced of this, as well as representatives of other countries and international organizations, because "this opera has already been sung." Tughushi said this is not new and they are not surprised, as similar situations have occurred in many places and ended with the same scenario everywhere.

Tughushi says that sooner or later all of this will end, and the question is how much will follow in these ruins. By ruin, he means the destruction of the state, the deterioration of the country's reputation and condition, and he notes that the country resembles a paralyzed body. In his words, the result is a cynical attitude toward people who disagree with or do not share the government's actions.

On positive developments, Tughushi said the matter is very difficult, because "there is nothing." In his words, if you try hard to see what has been done, it is hard to name anything. He also asked whether anyone could name a place where there is positive dynamics.
