Saint George International School Marks 30th Anniversary

Saint George International School, founded in 1996, is marking its 30th anniversary. The school was established in one of the most difficult periods for the country. Over three decades, it has expanded educational opportunities, developed its infrastructure and taken new steps in the field of international education. Since its founding, the school's activities have been guided by the motto "Non scholae sed vitae discimus" ("We learn not for school, but for life").
The school's founders are Grigol Bulia and Ioseb Khutsishvili. Its history began after the end of the Abkhazia war, in a difficult socio-economic environment. Initially, it was important to create a space where children could study and develop in a safe and caring environment. In the first years, the school had to change its location several times, but its development did not stop.
Over time, the school improved its learning environment, developed its infrastructure, laboratories and sports facilities, strengthened foreign language teaching and paid more attention to introducing modern educational approaches. In 2018, the school expanded and opened a separate campus for primary school students.
To this day, Christian and national values, mutual respect and an approach focused on the individual needs of each student remain the foundation of the school's educational environment. Today, the school has 20 graduating classes and brings together about 1,200 students. Its goal is to provide students with quality formal and non-formal education so that they can realize their potential in local and international arenas.
One of the important areas of development is the American Diploma Program (ADP). It offers students teaching oriented to international educational standards and develops independent thinking, research and problem-solving skills.
The school also has an AP testing center. Within the Advanced Placement program, students can study university-level material in individual subjects and confirm their knowledge through appropriate exams. Upon enrollment, a student saves significant financial and time resources.
