Giorgi Sosiashvili Becomes Full Member of Asian Academy of Sciences

Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Education, Science and Youth, Academician Giorgi Sosiashvili has become a full member of the Asian Academy of Sciences (academician).

In the Chinese city of Sanya, he was awarded an academician's diploma and medal, as well as a special prize for his outstanding contribution to the development of science.

The awards ceremony took place within the framework of the General Assembly of the Asian Academy of Sciences and the first high-level Asian scientific forum "Belt and Road - Scientific and Technological Formation of the Future". Sosiashvili attended the General Assembly by special invitation.

The head office of the Asian Academy of Sciences is located in Hong Kong. It is an international platform for scientific cooperation and brings together scientific and educational institutions from various countries of the world. Representatives of China, India, Pakistan, Japan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, France, Poland, Greece, the USA, the United Kingdom and Canada are involved in its activities.

Alongside Sosiashvili, Rector of Gori State University, Professor Alexandre Mgebrishvili, and Deputy Rector Zurab Zurabashvili took part in the General Assembly and the forum.

The event was an opportunity to deepen scientific and educational ties, expand international academic cooperation and showcase Georgia's scientific potential.
