Man Suspected of Killing Wife in Poti

A murder took place in Poti. According to available information, a man allegedly smothered his 47-year-old wife with a pillow, and before that released natural gas in the room.

The incident occurred late at night. According to reports, after committing the crime, the man called 112 himself in the morning. The emergency medical brigade that arrived at the scene found the woman already dead.

Law enforcement officers have been mobilized at the scene and investigative actions are underway.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs says that an investigation into the intentional murder of a family member under aggravating circumstances is being conducted under Article 109 of the Criminal Code, part 11 prime. According to locals, law enforcement officers detained the perpetrator in hot pursuit.
