Lawyer: Dito Chubinidze does not admit guilt and considers himself innocent

Dito Chubinidze, a journalist for Asavali-Dasavali detained on charges of sabotage, does not admit guilt. His lawyer, Nona Filauri, said so.
According to Filauri, the journalist was officially charged yesterday at the temporary detention isolator.
"He has been charged under the articles of treason and sabotage. Of course, we do not agree with the charge. Dito Chubinidze categorically denies that he is guilty of anything. He was acting as a journalist and obtaining information that he was reporting on. His position is this: he is ready to fight," Filauri says.
The lawyer gave a negative answer to a question on whether Chubinidze links his detention to a mention of him in the letter of former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili.
"I also had this question and asked him. He is familiar with the materials published by Irakli Gharibashvili. I asked whether he knows him personally and whether he has ever communicated with him, and he answered that he does not know him at all, either as a former politician, and he has never even had phone communication with him. He is somewhat surprised, by the way, that they could not connect this detention with him. The public raised this question, including me, and it was logical for me to ask it," Filauri said.
The Prosecutor General's Office detained journalist Domenti (Dito) Chubinidze of Asavali-Dasavali on charges of treason, namely sabotage. According to the agency, since February 2026 Dito Chubinidze has systematically spread false and disinformation reports using various media outlets and social platforms.
