Justice Ministry Launches Investigation into Injuries to Davit Peikrishvili
The Investigative Department of the General Inspection of the Ministry of Justice has launched an investigation into the injuries sustained by prisoner Davit Peikrishvili. The grounds for launching the investigation are publicly disseminated information in the media.
According to the agency, the investigation is being conducted under Article 126, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The statement reads: "In order to thoroughly and objectively study the circumstances of the case, appropriate investigative and procedural actions provided for by law are being carried out".
