According to the Prosecutor's Office, the protocol opened for signature on October 14, and Georgia was among its first signatory countries. Along with Georgia, the document was signed by the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Monaco, Montenegro, Greece, San Marino, Hungary and the European Union.

The Prosecutor's Office led the preparatory process for signing the protocol. On behalf of Georgia, the document was signed by Khatia Tsiloshani, Georgia's Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe. Representatives of the Prosecutor's Office responsible for international cooperation in criminal law, Giorgi Mikava and Givi Baghdavadze, attended the event.
