Farulava: Manana Kobakhidze Must Explain Why She Made the Decision Now

Georgian Dream deputy Giga Farulava of the party "Gakharia for Georgia" believes that Manana Kobakhidze's decision clearly indicates that the political team of "Georgian Dream" has already made the decision and instructed the judges of the Constitutional Court. He made this statement in the "Rezume" program on Palitranius, responding to the announcement that the Constitutional Court would begin considering the lawsuit on banning political parties.

According to Farulava, banning parties will lead to catastrophic consequences for "Georgian Dream".

According to him, Manana Kobakhidze should have the opportunity and the desire to clearly explain, in the interests of the country, why she made this decision precisely now, what instructions she has received from the Constitutional Court, and what processes will develop after this.

"Nothing is ruled out from the "Georgian Dream" regime during today's political processes. Manana Kobakhidze's decision, by which she evaded the process, clearly indicates that the political team of "Georgian Dream" has already made the decision and has instructed the judges of the Constitutional Court," Farulava said.

According to the deputy's assessment, using constitutional mechanisms to ban parties is unacceptable for them. In his words, in a democratic country, parties should be defeated through free and fair elections.

Farulava said that "Georgian Dream" has chosen a path that effectively establishes dictatorship. According to him, their party has also been added to the lawsuit together with other opposition parties.

"They are legalizing dictatorship, this is also effectively the cancellation of elections, therefore this process will bring catastrophic results for them," said Giga Farulava.
