MIA: No Request Was Made to Ban Japaridze from Entering Any Country
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is issuing a clarification regarding the detention of Zurab Girchi Japaridze, one of the leaders of the "Coalition for Change," at an airport in Turkey. The ministry stated that the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs made no request to ban Japaridze from entering any country.
Zurab Girchi Japaridze says he was detained at the border in Turkey. According to the politician, he was told that since November 2025 he has been under a "ban" on entering the country, because they received the information from official Georgian structures.
Japaridze says he is being sent back to the country tomorrow.
