Supreme Court Grants Thea Tsulukiani's Claim Against Nanuka Zhorzholiani

Thea Tsulukiani also won her dispute with TV presenter Nanuka Zhorzholiani in the Supreme Court. Zhorzholiani herself made the information public.
The claim concerned a post published by Zhorzholiani on Facebook on April 12, 2025, in which the TV presenter wrote that Thea Tsulukiani's father, judge Avtandil Tsulukiani, had sentenced specific people to be shot. Zhorzholiani had published a list of these people.
In court, Thea Tsulukiani sought recognition as defamatory of two phrases from the post: "Tsulukiani's father shot the following people (the list is presented in the specified claim)" and "This was a transitional period when the death penalty was being abolished and Judge Tsulukiani could use another higher punishment".
Zhorzholiani's defense argued that the information had been obtained from public sources and that the post fell within the sphere protected by freedom of expression. Zhorzholiani repeated the same in a video released on October 13 and defended her 2025 post.
According to her own statement, Zhorzholiani will appeal the Supreme Court's decision to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
