Prosecutor: Four Convicts Admitted Guilt and Requested Plea Agreement

Murtaz Zodelava, Lasha Beridze, Irakli Chkhvirkvia and Guri Zhvania admitted guilt, expressed remorse and requested the conclusion of a plea agreement. The prosecutor of the 4 October case, Vazha Todua, announced this.

According to him, all four convicts applied to the prosecution office with written statements. Each of them admitted guilt and sincerely repented.

According to the prosecutor, within approximately two weeks a court hearing will be scheduled, at which the plea agreements concluded with the convicts will be approved.

"The convicts, Murtaz Zodelava, Lasha Beridze, Irakli Chkhvirkvia and Guri Zhvania, admitted guilt, repented of the criminal acts they committed and applied to us with statements requesting the conclusion of a plea agreement. The prosecution side considered, granted and submitted at today's hearing the relevant motion and records regarding a verdict in their case without a full trial. Each document is signed by the convicts. These documents were submitted to the court, and we presented them to the court for the purpose of separating the case against them into a separate proceeding. Within approximately two weeks a court hearing will be scheduled, at which the plea agreement concluded with the convicts will be approved," said the prosecutor.
