The Orthodox Church of Georgia is marking Svetitskhoveli. On the occasion of the feast and the 1700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as the state religion in Georgia, on October 14 the liturgy will be held in the Svetitskhoveli Patriarchal Cathedral by the All-Georgia Catholicos-Patriarch, Metropolitan Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia Shio III. Members of the Holy Synod will attend him.

The service will begin at 10:00. Members of delegations of various local Orthodox churches and guests arriving from abroad will attend the liturgy.

The Svetitskhoveli feast is celebrated twice a year: on October 14 and July 13. On October 14 the church commemorates the Robe of Christ, and on July 13 it commemorates all the apostles of Christ.
