Man Detained in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti on Charges of Methadone Sale

Employees of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained a person on charges of illegally acquiring, storing and selling a large quantity of a narcotic substance. The detainee had previously been convicted of various crimes.

According to the ministry, intensive investigative actions were carried out based on a court ruling, including covert audio and video recordings. As a result, it was established that the suspect was selling the narcotic substance "Methadone."

Police seized the narcotic substance illegally sold as physical evidence. The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260 terts of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for imprisonment of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
