Misho Suluxia Writes Police Assaulted Him Near Lisi, Ministry Offers Different Version

Musician Misho Suluxia wrote on social media late at night that unknown persons, who presented themselves as law enforcement officers, stopped him near Lisi, took his phone and physically attacked him.
According to Suluxia, they blocked the road of his taxi and forced him out of the car. The persons, by his own account, did not present appropriate documentation. The musician says they surrounded him, restricted his freedom of movement and did not allow him to answer an incoming call on his phone. According to him, a search revealed nothing illegal and he was sober.
Suluxia writes: "They smashed my phone screen, I was asking for help, but I could not make anyone hear me. I asked them to return my phone, but in vain." According to him, he saw them preparing an object wrapped in black insulating tape, at which point he escaped from the group.
According to the musician, none of the seven were able to bring him down. Law enforcement currently holds a taxi driver whose name he does not know and is pressuring him under threat to admit he was involved in a group crime. Suluxia says that after moving through the forest he asked young people for help so he could access Facebook and write a statement.
"They offered me a script, to confess to a crime I have no connection to. Please, somebody help me, I am out of contact. First of all, I demand the inviolability of my phone and personal data, and I want to speak with the Public Defender", writes the musician.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Suluxia was moving on foot suspiciously in a forest area near Lisi, and law enforcement officers stopped him for verification. According to the ministry, he had previously been convicted of drug-related offences and is currently on probation.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he did not comply with the lawful demand of the police, dropped his mobile phone and fled the scene. Law enforcement officers sealed the mobile phone and a bank card placed in the phone case at the scene, in the established manner.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 173 of the Code of Administrative Offences, which concerns failure to obey a lawful demand of a law enforcement officer.
