The III International Student Conference "German-Georgian Student Conference (GGSC) – 2026" has opened at the Georgian Technical University. The Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems and Dresden University of Applied Sciences are jointly organizing the event. The goals of the event are to deepen Georgian-German academic cooperation, promote the development of student research, and expand the involvement of young researchers in the international educational space.

The conference was opened by Taliko Zhvania, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems. Professor Mario Neugebauer of Dresden University of Applied Sciences addressed attendees with a welcoming speech. Students from both countries and representatives of the academic community are taking part in the event.

According to Taliko Zhvania, GGSC is a platform for Georgian-German academic cooperation that brings together students, researchers and the academic community of Georgia and Germany in a shared scientific space. Its aim is to give young researchers the opportunity to present their own research, share experience, discuss current issues and establish professional contacts.

According to the Dean, international scientific cooperation contributes both to the development of students' scientific competencies and to the formation of sustainable partnerships between universities. GGSC gives students the opportunity to present their academic work to an international audience, gain different research experience and expand professional relationships.

Student research papers on various topics will be presented within the conference. Participants will present their research and results to the academic community, which will help foster scientific discussion, showcase research interests and develop new ideas.

At the 2026 conference, 10 students and two professors from Dresden University of Applied Sciences are taking part. One important focus is the publication of student papers: Dresden University of Applied Sciences will publish the conference proceedings. This will showcase the research results of Georgian and German students in the international academic space and increase their visibility.

In addition to presenting papers and sharing experience, the conference also aims to deepen cooperation between universities in Georgia and Germany, promote student mobility and establish new scientific and educational partnerships.
