Japaridze: If Constitutional Court Grants Georgian Dream's Request, State Will Suffer Irreparable Damage

Badri Japaridze, leader of "Lelo-Strong Georgia", said that if the Constitutional Court grants the request of "Georgian Dream", the state and every citizen will suffer irreparable damage. He made the statement after a meeting between leaders of "Strong Georgia - Lelo" and representatives of expert circles, at which the process of banning parties was discussed.
According to Japaridze, everyone together must try to ensure that "irreparable consequences do not befall each of our citizens".
According to him, the purpose of the meeting was to hear the views of representatives of society regarding the ongoing process at the Constitutional Court, which took place in Batumi last week.
Japaridze said that there is full agreement between representatives of society and themselves that this process is not directed only against the dissolution of parties. In his assessment, it is a process directed against the Western, free world and against the parties that want to see Georgia in the European family. It is also against the large part of society that wants Georgia to be a sovereign, strong and prosperous state.
According to Japaridze, the results of the process are already having an enormous negative impact on the country. According to his statement, the lawsuit filed by "Georgian Dream" has no connection whatsoever with the law.
"Therefore, our task now is for everyone together to try not to allow irreparable consequences for our country, our state, our independence, and each of our citizens", said Japaridze.
