Iran's Foreign Ministry has declared the United Kingdom's Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) a "hostile group", while the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force have been declared "terrorist organizations". The ministry condemned "hostile and illegal actions" by the British government against Tehran and announced retaliatory measures. The information is being disseminated by Iranian media.

The statement says that the policy and actions of the British government against Iran contradict the UN Charter and the principles of international law, in particular the principles of respect for national sovereignty and the prohibition of the use of illegal measures against other countries.

According to the ministry, the measures taken by Iran are a response to anti-Iranian actions carried out by Great Britain over the past year.

The statement reads: "These include Britain's participation in the US-Israeli aggressive war against Iran by providing military bases, facilities and logistical support, as well as the decision adopted on 13 July 2026, according to which the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was brought within the scope of the 2026 Law on 'State Threats'".
