Merz: Europe Now Funds Ukraine's Weapons Independently

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the US no longer participates in financing weapons and equipment for Ukraine's defense. According to him, this shows that Europe can do it independently and has been doing so for almost two years.

Merz noted that this is a major burden for the budgets of European countries, but they will continue to assist Ukraine until the end of the war.

"This is indeed a major burden for our budgets; it is also important for the European Union. However, we are doing it and trying to continue until this terrible war ends," Merz said.
