Blumenthal Criticizes Trump's Order on Russia Sanctions

American Senator Richard Blumenthal ("Democratic Party") says that Donald Trump once again confirms that he stands on the side of "the bloodthirsty murderer". The senator wrote this on social media.

Blumenthal, co-author of the "Lindsey Graham Act" on sanctions against Russia, responded to the executive order issued by the US president. With this order, Trump suspended the imposition of sanctions and tariffs against Russia provided for by the "Lindsey Graham Act".

"Donald Trump once again confirms that he stands on the side of a bloodthirsty murderer and of those who facilitate the Russian war machine, and against the majority of Americans, their representatives in both chambers of Congress, and our European allies", writes Blumenthal on X.

According to him, Trump's order has nothing to do with US national security.

"This is entirely about groveling before Vladimir Putin. I hope my 'Republican' colleagues will join me in condemning this cowardly step", states the American senator.
