Foreign Citizen Wanted by Interpol Red Notice Detained at Batumi Airport

Employees of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained a foreign citizen wanted under an Interpol red notice. The agency is disseminating the information.

According to the ministry, the detainee was wanted at the request of law enforcement bodies of the Kingdom of Belgium on fraud charges.

According to the agency, the wanted person was detained at Batumi International Airport while attempting to cross the Georgian border.

The ministry explains that extradition procedures provided for by law are underway in respect of the detainee.
