Zhorzholiani: 364 Agencies Participate in Internship Program, Around 1,500 Interns Selected

The internship program includes 364 agencies. Some 55,000 applications were submitted for 3,500 vacancies, of which 5,600 were unique, and around 1,500 interns were selected. This was announced by Levan Zhorzholiani, head of the Government Administration.

According to him, this indicates great interest. Zhorzholiani explained on the "Imedis Dili" broadcast that local self-government bodies are also participating in the program.

"It is a very large program - 364 agencies are included in it, as well as self-government bodies. We asked self-government bodies to actively participate, because in the regions too, local young people should have more opportunities to complete internships. In Tbilisi, as you know, a great many agencies are concentrated, both in the central government and in legal entities of public law, state companies, very many, and ultimately we received some 3,500 vacancies. We had 55,000 applications, of which 5,600 were unique. This indicates very great interest, and around 1,500 interns were selected," said Levan Zhorzholiani.

According to Zhorzholiani, last year about 50% of the program participants continued their work in public institutions. Some had their internship period extended, 160 people were given employment contracts, and 40 passed a competition and became civil servants.
