One Person Detained Over Stabbing of Man in Dusheti

The Dusheti District Division of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained one person on charges of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm.

According to the agency, in the Dusheti Municipality the suspect, during a verbal altercation, used a bladed weapon to cause bodily injury to one person and then fled the scene. The injured man was taken to a clinic for medical assistance.

As a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out by law enforcement, the suspect was detained in hot pursuit. The weapon used in the crime, a knife, was seized as material evidence.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 117 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment of up to 7 years.
