43 Packets of 'Methadone' Seized in Tbilisi, Two Foreign Nationals Detained
Officers of the Gldani-Nadzaladevi and Isani-Samgori main divisions of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained two foreign nationals in Tbilisi at different times. The charges concern the illegal acquisition, storage and facilitation of the sale of narcotic drugs in particularly large quantities.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of investigative actions, including a personal search of the suspects, 43 packets of 'Methadone', a narcotic drug in particularly large quantities packaged for sale, were seized as material evidence.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260 quartus of the Criminal Code of Georgia. These articles provide for imprisonment of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
