Turkish Citizen Wanted by Interpol Detained in Batumi on Charges of Sexual Violence Against Child
A Turkish citizen wanted by Interpol with a red notice was detained in Batumi. The arrest was carried out by employees of the Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the ministry, at the request of Turkish law enforcement bodies, the man was wanted on charges of sexual violence committed under aggravating circumstances against a child who had reached the age of twelve.
The wanted person was detained as a result of investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers. Extradition procedures provided for by law are currently underway against the detainee.
