Mother of prisoner Davit Feikrishvili, Nino Abramishvili, and his former spouse, Ano Ananiashvili, went to the Prosecutor's Office for questioning.

According to Ano Ananiashvili, they were presumably summoned in connection with "the incident that occurred in Gldani Prison". She said the family demands that the head of Gldani Prison, Ramaz Pirtskhalava, be made to step down.

"I don't know what information they need or why they summoned us, but it is clear that we are now at the prosecutor's office, and I and Davit Feikrishvili's mother are going in for questioning, presumably about the incident that occurred in Gldani Prison. This is a case of beating. No one has been arrested, the people who carried this out. No lawyer is speaking out about this incident. Neither is the head of Gldani Prison, Ramaz Pirtskhalava, resigned. They have limited themselves to Pataridze resigning. We, family members, demand that he be made to step down at a minimum and arrested at a maximum, because such incidents must not happen in the state. We demand this and will do everything for it", said Ano Ananiashvili.

Feikrishvili's lawyer, Paata Gogiashvili, says there are no doubts about the objectivity of the investigation. "We are waiting, and we have no doubts about the objectivity of the investigation. We are waiting for the qualifications to be made more severe and for the circle of perpetrators to be expanded. All persons who are directly and indirectly involved in the case must be punished", he said.

Davit Feikrishvili said that in Gldani Penitentiary No. 8, he was physically assaulted by so-called criminal authorities, Avtandil Bilanishvili (also known as "Kaltsro"), Vato Kipiani, Shota Kipiani and two other persons. The penitentiary service initially categorically denied this, but later Feikrishvili was placed in the Vivamed clinic with multiple injuries, where he is still undergoing treatment.

The investigation was initially launched by the General Inspection of the Ministry of Justice, after which the case was transferred to the investigative unit of the Chief Prosecutor's Office. Following a recommendation from the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor's Office requested that the authority of the head of the Penitentiary Service, Giorgi Pataridze, be suspended, after which Pataridze left his post. Ramaz Tatarashvili, director of the Inner Kartli Police Department, was appointed to his position.
