Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, responded to yesterday's opposition rally. Speaking to journalists, he said that marches of people supporting opposition parties have been announced many times, but this time too, "a handful of people" gathered.

According to Matikashvili, society saw what real support radicalism and agentura have in the country today. In his assessment, the rally showed that the thesis that a substantial number of people in Georgia are being deprived of the right to vote due to the ongoing process at the Constitutional Court is absolutely false.

"How many times have so-called opposition marches been announced to support radical and agentura parties in reality, and again, it is a fiasco - a handful of people, under the conditions of the so-called scale that Mr. Gvaramia announced from Batumi," Matikashvili said.

According to him, the demand of the constitutional lawsuit does not depend on public support, but on the goals of this or that party. Matikashvili said that anti-constitutional political forces acting against the state should not exist in the political landscape.

Yesterday, a rally titled "Georgia Without Ivanishvili" was held, organized by the "Opposition Alliance". Opposition politicians and citizens gathered near the first building of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, then moved by march to Rustaveli metro station, where several politicians addressed the public. According to the politicians, this rally will be the beginning of other permanent rallies, and a large-scale rally is planned in Tbilisi on November 28.
