Trump: 200% Tariffs on Russia and Ukraine Will Not Secure End to War

US President Donald Trump says that imposing 200% tariffs on Russia and Ukraine will not work to end the war.

Trump said that tariffs helped end five wars. "Thanks to tariffs, we ended five wars. I said: 'If you continue fighting, I will impose a 200% tariff on you,' and they stopped. Perhaps we should take a similar measure against Russia and Ukraine. I have never thought about this," the US president said.

According to him, due to the small volume of bilateral trade, imposing tariffs on Russia and Ukraine will not produce results for the US.

"However, we do not buy enough products from them to act this way. So, this will not work," Trump noted.
