TBC Bank Wins Kong Innovator Award 2026 for Developer Experience

At the Kong Innovator Awards 2026 held in Los Angeles, TBC Bank won the Top Kong Innovator – Developer Experience category. The award was presented to the bank for a technology transformation project that involved upgrading its API integration platform and improving the developer experience.

As part of the project, TBC moved from a centralized integration model to a decentralized API ecosystem. Product teams can now independently discover, use, publish and manage APIs, while the central team has focused on platform development, common standards and supporting other teams. The new approach reduced the time needed to create integrations by 80%.

The upgraded platform serves 150 TBC teams and processes more than 8 billion API requests per month. According to the bank, these results demonstrate the effectiveness of the technological and organizational changes and create a more flexible, scalable foundation for the development of future digital products.

Within the framework of the event, at the international conference Kong API + AI Summit 2026, TBC representatives Sergo Rostiashvili (Head of the Platforms League) and Vato Veliashvili (Product Owner/Team Captain) presented the technology transformation project and shared the bank's experience with the audience. Alongside Kong executives, representatives of Spotify, Dell, Prudential and Ericsson also took part in the conference.
