Bokeria: Ambassadors' Interest in Domestic Developments Is Not Surprising

Giga Bokeria, leader of the party Federalists, told journalists after meeting with the ambassadors of Great Britain, Germany and France that it is not surprising that representatives of the free world are interested in what is happening inside the country, when "the Ivanishvili regime publicly declares that it is acting against the free world" and forbids citizens from making political choices.

According to Bokeria, what matters to him is not what happens to any party, but what the Ivanishvili regime is doing this for. In his explanation, the regime wants to continue enriching itself at the expense of Georgia's future and the futures of all citizens' children, and to retain power in the interests of Georgia's enemies.

In his assessment, what is happening in Georgia now is not a story of political parties. According to Bokeria's statement, it is a story of unprecedented distrust toward choice and toward citizens.

Bokeria said that he always sees support from the free world when a free society takes steps to defend its interests, sovereignty and statehood. He said he is confident that this will always be the case. He also said that it is in the national interest that the country not be infiltrated by the infrastructure of enemies, such as Russia and the Ayatollahs' Iran.

Bokeria also assessed the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which the agency expressed concern over statements by European Union representatives. According to him, interference and aggression are not what Georgia's enemies do to "Georgian Dream". According to Bokeria's statement, Russia and the Ayatollahs' regime do not perceive them as a threat, because they consider them natural allies, and it is precisely in this configuration that they see the preservation of power.
