Saakashvili Calls on Opposition to Unite

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili addresses the opposition on social media and calls for unity. According to him, the country now faces the threat of disappearing, and there is no time to count ratings.
According to Saakashvili, representatives of opposition parties say that they do not want "to be with Misha, because their supporters do not want it, and they say that Misha is a disruptor of unity".
He said that at a conference organized by the International Republican Institute (IRI) in Lithuania, American and European experts and politicians told opposition party representatives that their only chance is to unite with him.
Saakashvili writes that the opposition should open its eyes and realize that, because of its confrontation with him, no supporters are left except for "narrow cutoffs". According to him, he has been going around all these years with the slogan "Let's unite", but the opposition avoids it and sees him, instead of Ivanishvili, as the main problem.
"If we were in a normal political situation and election environment, I myself could win a majority and come with a mainly young team, but now we are facing the threat of the country disappearing, and this is no time to count ratings. The matter stands like this: either we unite around a common cause, or we will disappear", writes Saakashvili.
