Artkmeladze: Manana Kobakhidze's decision is an example of system collapse

Tornike Artkmeladze, a member of the "Strong Georgia - Lelo" party, commented on the termination of Manana Kobakhidze's powers as a judge of the Constitutional Court on the basis of her personal resignation. According to him, a once loyal supporter and even active member of "Georgian Dream" now refuses to comply with the request of Irakli Kobakhidze.
Artkmeladze calls the banning of parties a grave decision and expresses hope that other judges of the Constitutional Court will also realize this.
"Manana Kobakhidze's decision was motivated by the fact that she did not want to take part in an anti-constitutional process, which is called banning parties. I hope that after this fact, other judges will also fully realize how grave a decision the banning of parties would be. This decision is also another example of the collapse of the system - a once loyal supporter and even an active member of "Georgian Dream" now refuses to comply with Irakli Kobakhidze's request," Artkmeladze said.
Manana Kobakhidze's powers as a judge of the Constitutional Court were terminated ahead of schedule on the basis of her personal application. This is stated in the court's information.
Previously, the Constitutional Court did not satisfy Kobakhidze's motion for self-recusal from considering the lawsuit related to banning parties. According to the court, Kobakhidze applied to the court with a request for self-recusal on October 9.
