Constitutionalist Vakhushti Menabde responded to the early termination of Manana Kobakhidze's powers at the Constitutional Court. According to him, against this backdrop "Georgian Dream" lacks the votes to appoint a new judge, and for this reason it has so far been unable to elect a replacement for Merab Turava.

Vakhushti Menabde writes: "Judge Manana Kobakhidze is a judge appointed by the parliamentary quota. Under the Constitution, 90 votes are required to elect a Constitutional Court judge,

"Georgian Dream", however, controls 89. For the same reason, they have so far been unable to elect a replacement for Judge Merab Turava."

The powers of Manana Kobakhidze as a Constitutional Court judge were terminated early. According to the court, her powers were terminated on the basis of her personal application.

Previously, the Constitutional Court did not satisfy Kobakhidze's motion to be recused from considering the constitutional claim related to the ban of parties. According to information disseminated by the court, Kobakhidze applied for self-recusal on October 9.

Manana Kobakhidze was elected to the Constitutional Court by the Parliament of Georgia on February 8, 2017.
