Khabeishvili from Prison: I Am Jailed for My Words, They Do Not Accuse Me of Any Action

One of the leaders of the United National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili, responded in a letter sent from prison to statements by representatives of Georgian Dream. They concerned the European Commission's report, in particular the issue of unlawful prisoners.

In the letter, Khabeishvili writes that Georgian Dream representatives ask who is sitting for holding a different opinion. According to him, he is himself in prison for his words: "They do not accuse me of any action, deed or even their invented violence! They accuse me of speaking!" Khabeishvili explains that for saying on television that the Ivanishvili regime must end, he was sentenced to almost 3 years.

In his own words, they do not accuse him of any action, only of speaking. Khabeishvili ironically notes that, in the government's view, the Briton is wrong, the German failed to understand, France is lying, Poland is bad, America is in a lie, and only Ivanishvili, Kobakhidze and Papuashvili are right.

In the letter he also asks questions: who tortured nearly 500 people and who was punished, who shot Rizhvadze, who killed, and if they did not shoot, who blackmailed. Khabeishvili asks who will answer for building slaughterhouses in prisons and bringing in people lined up "from outside". He notes that the former prime minister exposes murders and asks how they dare to speak out against them.

Khabeishvili also responds to what was said about Sanaia and asks whether Gorduladze and the deputies who collectively attacked a member of Gakharia's team are aggressors. He ends the letter this way: "I have never seen anything so brazen and spineless!"
