Nia Imnadze's Mother to Prosecutor Sonidze: "Aren't You Ashamed of What You've Signed?"

გიგა ავალიანის მკვლელობის საქმეზე დაკავებული ნია იმნაძის დედა პროკურორს სიტყვიერად დაუპირისპირდა

Nia Imnadze's mother, who was detained in the case of Giga Avaliani's murder, verbally confronted prosecutor Ketevan Sonidze when the prosecutor was giving comments to journalists.

Sonidze told the media that if Nia Imnadze were really a victim of harassment, her parent would have reacted to it. "Tamar Navrozashvili, if she had a real basis for such fear and the child were really a victim of harassment, naturally she would have reacted to it accordingly," said Keti Sonidze.

After this, Nia Imnadze's mother approached the prosecutor. "Tell me honestly, as a mother to a mother, aren't you ashamed of what you've signed? God is watching from above, life is a boomerang, and no one knows what will come back to them. Nia is praying for you, that God forgives you, you know well that Niako is detained innocently," she addressed the prosecutor.

According to Ketevan Sonidze's assessment, the parent of the accused minor stood close to her so that she would feel uncomfortable and be made to feel discomfort.

In the case of the death of teacher Giga Avaliani, the prosecution charged two minors, Nia Imnadze and Anastasia Beruashvili, on August 6. Imnadze was charged under Article 25 and Article 117, Part 3, subparagraph "l" of the Criminal Code, which concerns incitement to intentional grave bodily injury committed by a group and provides for imprisonment of up to 13 years. Beruashvili was charged under Article 376, Part 2, which concerns failure to report a particularly grave crime and provides for imprisonment of up to 7 years.

According to the charges, Nia Imnadze told her friends, Aleksandre Gabashvili and Giorgi Malania, that her teacher Giga Avaliani was paying excessive attention to her. By doing so, she incited Aleksandre Gabashvili to attack Avaliani together with accomplices. Under a plan developed by Aleksandre Gabashvili, Giorgi Rikadze and Demetre Chikovani, Gabashvili and Rikadze attacked Giga Avaliani as a group; he died 23 days later in a medical facility.

A total of 7 people are detained in the case: Aleksandre Gabashvili, Giorgi Rikadze, Ani Naskidashvili, Demetre Chikovani, Giorgi Malania, Nia Imnadze and Anastasia Beruashvili. Four of them, Gabashvili, Rikadze, Naskidashvili and Chikovani, have been convicted.
